Sorry about not posting in a couple weeks. I was on a vacation back home to see my family and got caught up with visiting people (terrible, I know). Anyway, today I have a game that is aimed more for a younger crowd than the ones I've talked about before. Enchanted Forest is a creative little game that gets players running around (you guessed it) a forest looking for specific treasures to show the king. It has really simple rules and cool theme that may make you second guess grabbing Guess Who and see how there are cool games for kids too!
|Tradition states I must point out the cool-looking|
In Enchanted Forest, each player is traveling around the map, landing on tree spaces in hopes of finding the right treasure under that tree. Landing on the tree space lets them look at the picture on the bottom of that tree. If they find the one that matches the treasure card, they try to race to the castle and reveal where that treasure is hiding. The first one that gets 3 right, wins! And that's about it! Well, there's a "take that" mechanic to stop people from getting too far ahead. Oh, didn't I mention that? If you land on an opponent's piece, you send them back to the start! Now it's even more important to try to be stealthy about heading to the castle!
That's about it for Enchanted Forest. I can't say specifically whether kids really like this game. All I know is that Ravensburger usually publishes great games and I thought the concept of this was interesting! As always, come visit the Connexxions Cafe (12644 137 Ave, Edmonton) and check it out! Or ask me about a certain game that you’ve always wanted to learn. I’d be happy to work through it with you :) See you next time!
